Q. Who is a 'Buyer'?
A. The Buyer is the person or organization who is looking for bids from contractors. This could be a building owner, property manager, or a consultant. The buyer has total control of who bids and who is awarded the contract.
Q. How does a Buyer find a qualified Contractor?
A. The Buyer can search from a list of contractors or by state. Before selecting a contractor, the Buyer can review the contractor's profile or ratings which are based upon feedback from previous buyer experiences with the contractor.
Q. I'm a Buyer, and I don't know anything about roofs. How do I know what information to provide contractors with so they can submit a bid?
A. Buyers can choose from three options when soliciting bids.

1 - Upload your own specifications designed in advance
2 - Build a custom specification on-the-fly, by following the questions provided
3 - Have contractors provide you with their ideas, after reviewing basic information about your existing roof or a scheduled site visit.
4 - Choose to have someone contact you to assist you through the process.

During any of these processes, you will have the opportunity to save where you are and request assistance to guide you through.
Q. What service fees are the Buyer responsible for?
A. The RoofBidsNow service for Buyers is free. All our fees are paid by the awarded contractor and they are calculated from a percentage of the final contract price.

Q. Who is a 'Contractor'?
A. The Contractor is the company who is invited to bid on a project. A contractor has control of what bid invitations they will accept or deny.
Q. How does a Contractor find projects to bid?
A. Buyers will select contractors to bid their project based upon a number of variables. Buyers will customize their searches to fit what they are looking for (location, type of roof system, residential or commercial, etc.). Buyers will also be able to review the contractor's performance rating, so it is in the contractor's best interest to satisfy their customers to obtain a high rating.
Q. I'm a Contractor, I've been awarded a project through RoofBidsNow.com. What happens now, and how do I get paid?
A. Once you are awarded a project by a Buyer, it is up to you and the Buyer to move forward with executing your own contract. An award on the site is only used as notification that it is the Buyers intent to enter into a contract with the awarded contractor. All payment terms should be agreed upon by both parties in the signed contract.
Q. As a Contractor, it seems I'm bidding all these projects, why am I not getting any awards?
A. RoofBidsNow offers sales tracking for your portfolio. This tool should give you enough information to show you how many opportunities you were invited to bid, how many you declined, how many were awarded, and give you some results to show how you performed compared to other contractors.

We also understand that communication is important for developing relationships with the customer, so we've included an onsite message sytem to facilitate communicate between the Buyer and Contractor.
Q. As a Contractor, why am I not being invited to bid any projects?
A. The Buyer chooses from a list of contractors. From this list, two things give you an opportunity to stand out. The first is your company profile which can feature project references of your choice. The second is your company rating which is soley based upon feedback from completed projects. If a Buyer leaves feedback, you will have an opportunity to post a response.
Q. What service fees is the Contractor responsible for?
A. The RoofBidsNow service is calculated from a percentage of the final contract price. Payment to RoofBidsNow is due upon an executed contract between the Buyer and the Contractor.
